Since last fall, several members of the Garnett area have been gathering and discussing what could be done to better promote Garnett and the surrounding area. Then general consensus is that we we are missing out on potential outside tourism money coming into this area because we are not marketing all of the great attractions and events that we already have in a way that is visitor friendly. In order to provide an office and a central clearing house for tourism inquiries and promotions, the group asked the Chamber to be the entity to handle tourism for this area.

The Chamber  receives quite a number of calls regarding tourism, especially the Prairie Spirit Trail.  The committee has appointed Cecilia Lamb the Chamber Administrative Assistant & the following people to sit on the Tourism Board: Rosanna Bauman, Tony Thornton, Mary Crawford, Josh Nelson, and Susan Wettstein.
